COYOTES”: How La Calera Was Transformed into the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles

COYOTES

The film production company JAGUAR BITE proudly announces the successful release of the feature film “COYOTES,” a horror comedy that is captivating audiences. The movie premiered at the prestigious Fantastic Fest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, and opened in theaters across the United States on October 3rd.

“COYOTES,” directed by filmmaker Colin Minihan, plunges viewers into the terrifying yet comedic experience of a family trapped in their home in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles as they are besieged by a pack of coyotes. The film features a stellar cast led by Justin Long, Kate Bosworth, Mila Harris, and Brittany Allen.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the production is the impressive logistical and artistic achievement by the JAGUAR BITE production team: the entire film was shot in Bogotá, Colombia.

The production team masterfully recreated the iconic Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles using a house in the mountains of La Calera. This challenge was overcome thanks to the versatility of Colombian landscapes, diverse climate conditions, and a strong technical and human team capable of convincingly creating a Californian atmosphere in the Andean region.

The success of “COYOTES” not only celebrates cinematic creativity but also highlights Colombia’s appeal as an international production hub.

JAGUAR BITE is proud to have benefited from the CINA incentive (Audiovisual Investment Certificate) granted by the Government of Colombia and administered by Proimágenes Colombia. This incentive offers a tax rebate equivalent to 35% of audiovisual service expenditures made in the country, reinforcing Colombia’s position as a competitive destination for high-quality content production.
