SIERRA MADRE

Bogotá, Colombia, December 10, 2026

The film production company JAGUAR BITE announces the upcoming release of the action feature film “SIERRA MADRE,” which will arrive in U.S. theaters on April 16.

The film was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Justin Chadwick and features a top-tier international cast. It stars action icon Kiefer Sutherland, marking his first filming experience in Colombia, alongside talents such as Solly McLeod, Ashton Sanders, Tommy Martinez, Omar Chaparro, and Colombian actors Laura Osma, Diego Vázquez, Flora Martínez, among others.

“SIERRA MADRE” tells the intense story of Captain Jordan Wright and his squad. While on leave to attend a wedding in a small town in Latin America, the group unexpectedly comes face to face with a dangerous cartel. What begins as an attempt to escort the survivors to safety quickly escalates into an all-out war between the squad and the cartel, forcing Jordan into a desperate battle to save his men.

The production stands out for an extraordinary logistical achievement: “SIERRA MADRE” was filmed entirely in Colombia, using a wide range of locations in Bogotá and its surrounding areas, as well as in the department of Boyacá.

The technical and artistic teams successfully transformed Colombian landscapes to recreate challenging locations such as Syria, showcasing the country’s versatility and capacity as a hub for major international film productions.

This project reaffirms Colombia’s appeal within the global film industry. “SIERRA MADRE” benefited from the Audiovisual Investment Certificate (CINA), a key incentive granted by the Colombian government and administered by Proimágenes Colombia. This support translates into a tax rebate equivalent to 35% of eligible audiovisual services expenditure in the country, strengthening the local economy and the national film infrastructure.
